How can I communicate with students in my classroom?

Communication is key. (We just made that up—catchy, right?)

Within Shmoop classrooms, you have three different options for how to communicate with students.

Option A

From the Overview tab, you can post announcements. Those announcements will be visible to the whole class within the classroom and will also be emailed directly to all students in the classroom.


 

Option B

From the Email Student tab, you can directly email individual students or the whole class. These messages can include attachments and will be sent via email to each student. If a student replies, their message will be sent directly to your email address.


 

Option C

If your classroom includes a discussion board, you can also contribute to any of these threads. For details on that, check out either of the following articles: "How do I create a discussion board for a course?" or "How do students post to the discussion board?"
