How It All Goes Down
- Terton, a lengthman like Tethis, hears the bells signaling something caught in the Circumfence.
- He thinks he sees something moving in the distance but decides not to investigate.
- This decision doesn't matter, though, because whatever it is comes crashing through his hut, smashing it to pieces.
- Terton survives by clinging to the Circumfence.
- Weeks later, he's picked up by Krull refugees, and after a series of adventures, settles on the Great Nef desert. Despite the negative rainfall, he still finds it "uncomfortably damp" (4.12.5).
