This is a slim chapter, story-wise. Two big plot points here:
- Anatole gave Leah a bow and arrow, and Nelson is teaching her how to use it.
- Once again, one of Father's holy words is backfiring, unbeknownst to him. When he says "Tata Jesus is bangala" (3.14.1), he's really saying that Jesus is poisonwood. "Jesus will make you itch like nobody's business" (3.14.1). No wonder they all stay away.
