- This is another short, less-than-a-page chapter, but it's kind of a bummer. We'll sum it up in two sentences.
- "At last it is Independence Day, for Methuselah and the Congo. […] After a lifetime caged away from flight and truth, comes freedom" (2.12.7).
- In other words, Methuselah got eaten. Gee, we hope the same doesn't happen to the Congo.
