How It All Goes Down
- Tris and Tobias are escorted to Jack Kang, representative of Candor, who reveals that Tobias is accused of "crimes against humanity" (11.25).
- The crimes include: "winking at old people," "speaking fake French," "lumberjack fantasies," and "Shaquille O'Neal's acting career." Oh, wait, those are cards against humanity.
- Jack also reveals that Tobias and Tris only took one copy of the data. Smashing the hard drive did nothing.
- Jack says that he will interrogate Tris and Tobias after injecting them with truth serum.
- Tris and Tobias are escorted to a holding room, where Tris feels "a pang of longing for how things used to be" (11.43).
- Tris also feels pangs of longing for a sandwich. Thankfully, Tobias hands her one.
- Tris falls asleep and wakes up when the door opens, and Christina comes in.
- Tris is afraid Christina will find out that she (Tris) killed Will.
- Christina doesn't know about any of this, and she tells Tris that everyone else—Uriah, Lynn, and Marlene—are safe.
- The reunion ends when Tris and Tobias are taken to the interrogation room, and Tobias is injected with truth serum.
