Character Analysis

The only son of Dinah, Re-mose should probably play a larger role in the book, but he's gone for most of it doing scribe stuff. Unfortunately, when we do see him, he's pretty down in the dumps: "And that is where I am now, wifeless, childless, second to a barbarian" (3.4.19), he says.

This barbarian is Joseph, and Re-mose isn't too pumped about being second to Joseph. Overall, though, Re-mose is a good kid. He loves and respects Dinah, and he even threatens Joseph for ruining his mom's life and killing his father.

If only his name weren't so close to remote.
