The Maze Runner Chapter 30 Summary

How It All Goes Down

  • The Slammer is a concrete block with one tiny window and a single rickety chair. Thomas enters it in good humor, but after about an hour (and nothing to read) the boredom becomes excruciating.
  • Chuck finally brings him some lunch around noon and reports that everything in the Glade seems to be back to normal. No one has found Gally's body out in the Maze, so they are assuming he's still alive, and Alby is back up and running the joint.
  • Then—in a moment of rare honesty—Chuck confesses that he can't remember home, but desperately wants to go back anyway. They bond over being crybabies, and Thomas pledges that no matter what he will make sure that Chuck gets to go home.
