Quote #7

SYBIL TRELAWNEY: Sixteen years I've lived and taught here! Hogwarts is my home! You can't do this!

DOLORES UMBRIDGE: Actually, I can […]

DUMBLEDORE: Professor McGonagall, might I ask you to escort Sybil back inside? […]

DOLORES UMBRIDGE: Dumbledore, may I remind you that under the terms of Educational Decree Number 23, as enacted by the Minister—

DUMBLEDORE: You have the right to dismiss my teachers. You do not, however, have the authority to banish them from the grounds. That power remains with the headmaster.

Yet another staff showdown. Umbridge may have the authority to fire Professor Trelawney, but Dumbledore's still headmaster. Umbridge doesn't take threats to her power lightly though. It's clear she'll keep grabbing at control until she gets what she wants.

Quote #8

CORNELIUS FUDGE: Dawlish, Shacklebolt, you will escort Dumbledore to Azkaban to await trial for conspiracy.

DUMBLEDORE: Ah, I thought we might hit this little snag. You seem to be laboring under the delusion that I am going to—what is the phrase?—come quietly.

Seriously, Fudge, don't you know by now that you're not just gonna be able to lock Dumbledore away? Dumbledore shows who's really in control when he disappears in a burst of flames and leaves everyone in his office thinking, "What the what?!"

Quote #9

DOLORES UMBRIDGE: Very well. You give me no choice, Potter. As this is an issue of Ministry security, you leave me with no alternative. The Cruciatus Curse ought to loosen your tongue.

HERMIONE GRANGER: That's illegal!

DOLORES UMBRIDGE: What Cornelius doesn't know won't hurt him.

Wow. Umbridge really is evil. There are really no limits to what she'll do to get what she wants. If she has to perform illegal spells and torture children to get information… then so be it. All this power has really gone to her head.
