In this vision, Daniel meets with the angel Gabriel (again) and experiences a moment of holy terror, feeling all the strength ebb out of him. But Gabriel helps out, touching him and zapping him with renewed strength. Gabriel urges him to have courage too.

Here, the Book of Daniel isn't talking about the courage of Daniel or Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It's moved from showing the courage of ideal heroes from the past to relating it to the courage that people are going to need to have in the book's present day.
