Once again we see the power of love here—and not in the funky, 1980s Huey Lewis way. It's a mighty, violent, heart-smashing force to be reckoned with.

The poem's final line seems to leave us with one more sense of the speaker's awe at the power of love. It has changed his life forever (at least from his current perspective), which is a pretty amazing (if also depressing) feat.
