The Narrator

Protagonists aren't necessarily likeable characters, and the narrator of "The Black Cat" certainly isn't a nice guy. However, the story is told from his perspective, he's the focus of the tale, and he drives the action. It's his life story that we learn about, and he's the character we follow.
