Bring on the tough stuff. There’s not just one right answer.
- In the film's beginning, Tony Stark wants to use Ultron to pre-emptively stop anyone from ever starting a war. Captain America is horrified by the notion that people might be punished for something that they might do, but haven't done just yet. Who's right: Tony or Cap? Why?
- Tony Stark and Captain America also have opposing views about the power of technology. Tony has faith in technology and thinks that it's something to be used and controlled. Cap is suspicious of technology and thinks that it will get out of hand one day. Whose position makes more sense to you, and why?
- The Maximoff twins seek revenge against Tony Stark for his role in supplying weapons to the army that killed their family. In light of this, how heroic is Iron Man in your view?
- Why are the Avengers so careful to avoid human casualties, but yet so unconcerned with the damage they inflict on those people's buildings, streets, cities, shops, etc.?
- Is Ultron potentially right? In your opinion, could humanity benefit from a do-over?
- In your view, how likely is a machine-only future, like the one Ultron predicts (and actively tries to bring about)?
