The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins Foolishness and Folly Quotes

How we cite our quotes: (Paragraph)

Quote #4

"Be calm, oh, Sire, and have no fears," chanted the magicians "Our charm will work in ten short years." (100)

Yeah, but a lot can happen in ten years, so it seems kind of foolish to assume the charm will work in that time. Even if the hat did come off, there's no guarantee it would be the charm's doing. Fraudulence and foolishness, we say.

Quote #5

"I don't know," said the executioner, "but it's one of the rules. I can't execute anyone with his hat on." (114)

Now, that's just silly. What good is a hat to a man soon to be without a head? Oh well, at least this bit of foolishness works in Bartholomew's favor.
