Fame
Being an entrepreneur can make you really, really famous. The most successful, most popular, and most profitable company on Earth was run by one man. If you don't know his name, you've been living under a rock (hint: it rhymes with Sleeve Mobs). In fact, one of the only reasons to risk everything is because someday your name could be just as familiar as Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Coco Chanel, Ray Kroc, Sean Combs, or Sir Richard Branson.
But: Everyone wants to be famous for being rich or rich because of fame. Yeah, people like Mark Zuckerberg and Rachael Ray make success look like pure luck or a single home run, but consider this: On season four of Shark Tank, there were 36,079 applicants. Of those, only 140 were selected, and less than a hundred are expected to appear on the show.
If you aren't ready for a lot of rejection, you might reconsider the risk of being an entrepreneur.
