The impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton jumped off in the senate on this day in 1999. Ultimately, Clinton was impeached on two charges: perjury and obstruction of justice. He was acquitted on an abuse of power charge, a second perjury charge, and a crime against the alto saxophone charge.
