dec 25 Learn More Katie Hnida Plays in a Division I College Football Game

On this day in 2002, the University of New Mexico's Katie Hnida became the first woman to play in a Division I college football game. She didn't score in that game, but the following season, the place-kicker scored two extra points in UNM's victory over Texas State, becoming the first woman to score in a Division I game.
