Director
George Roy Hill
George Roy Hill would go on to have a long and successful career, but it's fair to say that this dude was on top of the directing world back in the early 1970s. He's especially well-known for his work with Paul Newman and Robert Redford in both Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and The Sting (1973).
(Ask anyone over fifty-five today and you'll just see their eyes glaze over when they think of how awesome these back-to-back movies were back in the day.)
George Roy Hill would end up making the most of his time atop the filmmaking world. Butch Cassidy got him an Academy Award nomination for Best Director and The Sting got him a win. So even if things were never quite that successful again—although he'd go on to direct movies such as A Little Romance and The World According To Garp— the guy still made a place for himself in movie history.
