- The first half of this chapter involves Wade playing a game in which he has to act out the entire movie WarGames.
- Re-enacting Matthew Broderick's role to a T, including all the action and dialogue, nets Wade a clue to the Jade Key. "The captain conceals the Jade Key / in a dwelling long neglected / But you can only blow the whistle / once the trophies are all collected" (11.42).
- Parzival races back to Ludus, and Wade logs out of OASIS at 6:17 a.m.
- That night, he has a dream that he's found a large glass egg. An army of enemies take the egg and tear him apart.
