- After a swim to Gunga City, Jar Jar, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are immediately arrested and taken before the Gungan leader, Boss Nass.
- Boss Nass doesn't care about the Naboo and believes the droid army will leave them alone.
- Obi-Wan tries to convince him that the droid army will come for them. When that doesn't work, Qui-Gon uses a Jedi mind trick to get Boss Nass to give them transport.
- Deciding they'll need a navigator, he also convinces Boss Nass to hand over Jar Jar because of the life debt.
