Alan Grant (Sam Neill)’s Timeline and Summary

Alan Grant is doing his thing—digging up fossils, pretending to gut children with a raptor claw—when John Hammond makes him an offer he can't refuse.
Grant and Sattler fly to Isla Nublar and Jurassic Park.
After an awe-inspiring view of a live Brachiosaurus, Grant talks to the scientists of Jurassic Park and wonders if this whole thing is a good idea.
On the tour, Grant checks out a sick Triceratops, his favorite dinosaur.
But on the way back, they lose power and are stranded outside the T. rex paddock.
When the T. rex escapes, Grant protects the children and eventually leads them back to the visitor's center.
In the visitor's center, they still have to run from raptors, but they ultimately escape and leave Jurassic Park via helicopter.
Needless to say, Grant decides not to endorse Jurassic Park.
