Character Analysis
This is the tiny boxtroll that Willbury buys off Gristle. He speaks by making "squeaking sounds" and he is comforted by the objects the big boxtrolls give him: he "picked up the nut and bolt, kissed them, and gave them a hug" (11.37). Aw? When the big critters are kidnapped, Match is pretty traumatized, but he seems relieved when Arthur picks him up and gives him some familiar items: "Match took the nut and bolt and snuggled into Arthur's palm" (15.16). Pro tip: If you want to get in good with Match, be sure to bring your toolbox.
