Rick Deckard Timeline & Summary

  • Rick wakes up ready to start his day, but not before he and Iran get into a bit of a row, and he has to feed his electric sheep on the roof of his apartment. Sounds like someone's got a case of the Mondays.
  • At the office, Bryant informs Rick that Dave Holden was shot by a Nexus-6 android, the most advanced android ever created, ever.
  • Rick's job is to pick up where Dave left off and retire the last six of them.
  • He heads to the Rosen Association to test the Nexus-6 androids against the Voigt-Kampff test.
  • There he meets Rachael Rosen and tests her, learning she's an android despite some serious tomfoolery on her grandfather's part.
  • Rick goes after the first android on his list, but Polokov finds him.
  • He manages to shut down Polokov using the age old troubleshooting technique of a bullet to the CPU.
  • He then goes after number two on his list, Luba Luft.
  • She tricks him and has an android disguised as a police officer arrest the bounty hunter.
  • At a fake police station, Rick meets Phil Resch. Together they escape the android-infested building. As a bonus, they retire number three on Rick's list, Garland. This to-do list is getting checked, son.
  • Rick and Resch track down Luba Luft, and Resch retires her.
  • With Luft's death, Rick realizes he felt empathy for the android, which is bad news when your job is to hunt them down.
  • To make himself feel better, he buys a goat.
  • Before going to finish the last three, he calls Rachael Rosen and asks her for help.
  • They meet at the St. Francis Hotel and have an affair.
  • Rachael reveals her job was to sleep with him to make him unable to further hunt androids.
  • He shows her, though. He heads to Isidore's apartment and retires Pris, Irmgard, and Roy on the spot.
  • He then flies out to the wasteland of Oregon and undergoes a trial similar to Mercer's.
  • Rick finds a toad out in the waste and returns home.
  • The toad turns out to be an electric one, but Rick doesn't mind. He's realized the electric creatures have their lives too.
