Hera's jealousy over her husband's affair with Semele is pretty destructive to say the least. The Queen of the Gods is widely known for her penchant for nasty revenge, but this one really takes the cake. Usually, Hera just tortures Zeus's lovers a bit, but in this story she tricks Semele into requesting her own complete and total destruction by Zeus himself. Not that we're condoning this sort of behavior, but in Hera's defense, Zeus is the worst husband ever when it comes to being faithful. It seems like she's got plenty of reason to be angry. Too bad her jealousy never seems to fall on the big guy himself.
