• After finding out that her bank account is an endangered species, Libby gets an offer from Lyle Wirth, leader of the Kill Club, to pay her to investigate the murder of her family.
• Many members of the Kill Club believe that Libby's brother, Ben, didn't do it, so Libby goes to talk to Ben in prison for the first time since he was convicted.
• After speaking to Ben, Libby, too, starts to wonder if he's innocent. If so, who did it?
• Lyle believes the killer was Krissi Cates's father, so Libby goes to talk to Krissi, who is now a stripper.
• Krissi, who accused Ben of molesting her as a child, admits she made it all up.
• While going through old family letters, Libby finds a letter to Ben from someone named Diondra, but Ben won't tell Libby who Diondra is.
• Many Kill Clubbers believe Libby's dad, Runner, did it, so Libby talks to him next.
• Runner is too stupid to have done anything, but he reveals to Libby that Diondra was pregnant with Ben's baby.
• Ben still won't say who or where Diondra is, so Libby talks to Diondra's friend Trey.
• Trey says Diondra is probably living under a fake name. Libby and Lyle find her, and Libby pays her a visit.
• At Diondra's house, Libby meets her niece, Crystal, who looks like Libby. Strong family resemblance.
• However, Crystal lets slip a clue that Diondra was there the night of the murders. Oops. They try to kill Libby to cover it up.
• Libby escapes and turns Diondra in to the police.
• Libby then finds out that her mother, Patty, hired a man to kill her. There were two killers that night.
• Libby knows the truth and is able to put her dark places behind her.
