How It All Goes Down

- The next morning, Leo lies in bed ruminating over this new revelation. Raisa heads off to work.
- As soon as Raisa leaves, Leo gets up and begins "his search" of his own apartment (2.12.15). He tears his own home apart but doesn't find anything suspicious.
- Suddenly, there's a knock on the door—it's vicious Vasili and two henchmen, including Fyodor. Vasili taunts Leo before performing his own search of their bedroom.
- Fyodor and Leo talk about Arkady's disappearance until Vasili emerges from the room. He hasn't found anything and leaves disappointed.
- Leo returns to his room and starts putting Raisa's clothes back in their drawers. Suddenly, something falls out—it's a coin that's actually "a device for smuggling microfilm" (2.12.91).
