- Vicki calls Knox and tells him she has a hot story for the evening edition.
- See, in the 1980's, some papers had two editions (or two more than they have today).
- The news exposes Joker's cosmetics plan, rendering it useless, and Gotham safe again.
- In the Bat Cave, Alfred warns Bruce that Vicki Vale will find out his true identity eventually. She's too smart for him.
- Alfred suggest he tell Vicki the truth.
- Let's see how that goes.
- Bruce visits Vicki at her house.
- He brings flowers, but that's not enough to make up for being such a jerk.
- She's mad that he lied about leaving town.
- To prove he's a nice guy, he shoves her into a chair and tells her to shut up.
- He has something to tell her: he's Batman.
- But before he can tell her, she gets an unexpected visitor: Joker.
- Bruce hides, like a gentleman, while Joker grabs Vicki and drags her away.
- Joker says that "Sugar Bumps" jumped out a window.
- He seems to want to replace her with Vicki.
- Bruce reveals himself and approaches Joker, telling him, "I know who you are."
- Bruce takes a fire poker and does his best over-the-top Beetlejuice impersonation, screaming like a maniac at Joker.
- Joker responds "You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?" then he shoots Bruce.
- Vicki screams.
- Joker dances from the apartment, and when Vicki rushes to Bruce's side, she finds that he's gone.
- He used a silver tray to block the bullet.
- She finds a box on her table and opens it.
- A mannequin hand pops out holding wilted flowers, and Vicki faints as if this is the worst thing she's ever seen.
