Tanis Judique Timeline and Summary

Tanis first shows up in Babbitt's real estate office looking for an apartment. Babbitt likes the look of her and decides to show her the apartment personally.
At the apartment, Tanis makes Babbitt promise that he'll come back sometime and let her give him a dancing lesson. He thinks she's joking, but agrees.
Some time later, Tanis calls up Babbitt about making some repairs to her roof. He comes over and they flirt with one another. He decides to run out and get them takeout for dinner, and he eventually spends the night at her apartment. The insinuation is that they've had sex.
Babbitt continues to visit Tanis and have an affair with her. He eventually meets her group of friends, too, which she refers to as "The Bunch." Babbitt finds them all a bit trashy at first, but things change once the booze starts flowing.
Tanis becomes upset when Babbitt starts avoiding her. It's clear that he wants to end their affair, but Tanis is afraid of being left alone. She begs him to come back, but he eventually breaks it off.
