  • Jane's mother, Shirley, takes Jane to dinner with dying Great-Aunt Carolyn. Shirley is hoping to secure a hefty inheritance for Jane.
  • Instead, Jane gets an all-expenses-paid trip to Austenland.
  • Once she's all suited up in the proper corsets and bonnets, Jane meets the rest of the guests and actors at Austenland: Miss Charming, Aunt Saffronia, Colonel Andrews, and the brooding Mr. Dar—er, Mr. Nobley.
  • On a walk, a new gentleman grabs Jane's attention. Except he's no gentleman. Enter: Martin the Gardener.
  • Their fling lasts a couple of chapters, tops, before Jane turns her attention back to Mr. Nobley.
  • She and Mr. Nobley flirt while doing various 19th-century activities, including horseback riding and croquet.
