Ripley (Sigourney Weaver)’s Timeline and Summary
- Ripley wakes from hypersleep with the rest of the crew.
- While Dallas chats with Mother, she joins the rest of the crew to discover they aren't at Earth yet.
- Dallas informs the group they picked up a signal of unknown origin and have to investigate as per their contract.
- The Nostromo lands on the planet but is damaged in the process.
- Dallas, Kane, and Lambert investigate the signal. Ripley stays behind to oversee the repairs.
- The away team returns. Ripley refuses to allow the team in without the proper 24-hour quarantine period. Ash admits them anyway.
- Ripley confronts Ash about his disobedience. Afterward, the Nostromo returns to its space refinery.
- The facehugger lets go of Kane and dies. Ripley requests that they throw the thing out, but Dallas permits Ash to keep it for study. Ripley tells Dallas that she doesn't trust Ash, but he doesn't listen.
- After Kane wakes up, the crew sits down for one last dinner, which turns out to be very memorable when the alien bursts out of Kane's ribcage.
- Ripley, Parker, and Brett hunt the alien but find Jonesy instead. Brett goes after the cat and meets a not-so-tiny alien.
- Ripley supports Dallas when he goes into the air shafts and listens as the alien snarfs him up.
- Now in command, Ripley checks in with Mother and learns about Ash's secret mission.
- Ash attacks her. Parker and Lambert intervene and save her from death by porno magazine. Seriously.
- Ripley plugs Ash back in to ask him how to defeat the alien. He says they don't have a chance against such a perfect organism.
- She decides they'll blow up the ship and escape in the shuttle. Although the ploy ultimately successful, Parker and Lambert are killed before they can escape.
- Facing the stowaway alien alone in the shuttle, Ripley uses her ingenuity to blow the alien into space. She destroys it with the shuttle's engine.
- Making a final ship log, Ripley and Jonesy settle in for a long hypersleep nap.
