Aladdin Scene 8 Summary

  • Back in the village, Aladdin shows Jasmine the way to his little rooftop hiding place.
  • Aladdin tells Jasmine that it's pretty obvious she's never been in the marketplace before. But Jasmine is a quick learner, so he can't get too cocky.
  • Up in the hiding spot, Aladdin and Jasmine check out the view of the palace, and Aladdin dreams of what life there would be like. Jasmine hints that life at the top isn't all it's cracked up to be. Um, must be better than starving in the streets, though, right? We guess getting told what to do all day is tough in its own way, though. #DisneyPrincessProblems
  • Aladdin and Jasmine agree that they just feel really trapped by their current circumstances.
  • For example? Jasmine tells Aladdin she decided to run away because her father is forcing her to get married. Well, Aladdin doesn't like that one bit. Nope. Not at all.
  • The moment turns just a little bit romantic, when suddenly a bunch of guards bust in. Of course.
  • Aladdin turns to Jasmine and asks her, "Do you trust me?" Hey, she just met this guy fifteen minutes ago. Why wouldn't she trust him?
  • So Aladdin and Jasmine hold hands and jump out the window together.
  • Luckily, a nice soft pile of grains breaks their fall. Okay, so trusting Aladdin was a pretty good move, Jasmine. Nice job.
  • But guards are waiting to capture the two of them at the bottom, anyway.
  • Of course, Jasmine isn't going down without a fight. When all else fails, she pulls out her royal privilege and orders the guards to release Aladdin by order of the princess.
  • Aladdin is pretty surprised. He was macking on a princess this whole time. What?
  • The captain of the guard is a little embarrassed, too, but he can't release Aladdin. See, Jafar specifically asked for the kid.
  • Jasmine's gonna have to take it up with the villain herself. And, oh, she will.
