If you’re not quite ready, old enough, or in the market for a driver’s license but would still like to be able to prove to people that you exist, you can apply for a state-issued ID card. To get one of these bad boys, you need to present your social security number and an official document showing your birth date to the BMV. Once you receive your card, it will be valid for four years. Just think of it as the President of your wallet carrying out a term in office. Or don’t, that’s cool, too.
